In addition, both devices support stereo Bluetooth (A2DP), FM radio, and HSDPA connectivity. As for the pre-installed software, whether you grab the C702 or C902 — somewhere in Q2 2008 when they hit "select markets" — you'll get PlayNow, TrackID, Java, NetFront web browser, RSS reader, picture blogging, and other standard apps already on board.

<li>Finally, the last slot indicates the form factor of the device. 0-2 is used for candybar, 2-5 for slider, 6-8 for clamshell, and 9 for other form factors.</li>

<p>The problem remains, though, for all handset makers. Today's high-end is tomorrow's mid-range phone. How will that affect the naming scheme? Maybe a new letter could be used for new devices? Launched last year, the W910 Walkman phone is designed for entertainment; whether music, 3D games, video, or high-speed Web access. It's also geared to let consumers choose their music just the way they want it. Applications such as Shake control enable them to flick the phone to control games or skip and shuffle between music tracks while SenseMeTM lets them discover music to match their mood and tempo. It's not exactly a smartphone and it's marketed more for the busy individual that just needs quick access to all their data without the fuss of a full-blown smartphone.
Still, the SE G700 and G900 are the smartest "feature phones" that we've ever seen. We just wish the touchscreen displays were a bit larger (but then, we might be even more inclined to call it a smartphone). Oh, and that "sticky note" feature is definitely cool.

screenshots that clearly show the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 displaying Windows Mobile 6.1, there is once again some talk of the XPERIA X1 toting Windows Mobile 6.5. If WinMo 6.5 really is the OS of choice for this new superphone, the "hands-off" approach from the Sony Ericsson reps makes all that much more sense - even more so than if it was rocking Windows Mobile 6.1.Now, all that's left is for Sony Ericsson to drop this darn thing on us already. The wait is getting unbearable - and there's still 6 months to go. Oh well, we're in for the long-haul with this one.
