Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 cloned
And I was wondering when we’ll see the first Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 clone. It’s here, and it has quite decent specs, and bit rougher (uglier) lines than the original device. The fake X1 sports the full QWERTY keyboard, 5 megapixel camera, 3-inch touchscreen that can display 16 million colors, and a built-in TV tuner. […]

The Sony Ericsson W302, which is also known as “Feng” may be introduced pretty soon. From what we can tell, there’s nothing too special about the device. It’s a low-to-mid range candybar, sporting a 2 megapixel camera with autofocus, 176×220 pixel display, and a music player (it’s a Walkman phone, after all). Sony Ericsson’a A2 software platform is running the show in the background…

And that’s about it — we don’t have any other information like pricing or availability at this stage, so stay tuned…

I’m not sure whether it’s the iPhone 3G or the HTC Touch Diamond/Touch Pro that took the flame from the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, but the truth is that lately we haven’t heard much about Sony Ericsson’s superphone. Now we have a new tidbit of information. Apparently, Hutchinson’s 3 (Three) will get to carry one of […]

Sony Ericsson J132 to come with standard 3.5mm headphone jack?
I’m not sure should we trust the image above or not, but apparently the upcoming low-end Sony Ericsson J132 will come with the standard 3.5 headphone jack. Maybe it’s me, but I do want to believe the Swedish-Japanese company will finally opt for the logical way and join other handset makers which have been shipping […]

official release. It’s good to see them going this way, and we can only hope they’ll do the same thing with all of the upcoming Walkman phones. After all, it’s only natural to sell music-centric phones with standard 3.5 headphone jack, don’t you think?

Sony Ericsson is apparently in talks to acquire BK Modi’s Spice Mobile - which is the handset company of the Modi group, and sells handsets under the Spice brand.

A top source in the Spice group confirmed the development and said that while talks were on, the deal had not been finalised. The source also added that initially, Spice Mobile had approached Sony Ericsson for a ‘wide-ranging collaboration and partnership’, but as the talks progressed, it was felt that an acquisition would suit both companies better.

It’s a sensible strategy from Sony Ericsson, and could result in a very quick rollout of budget-level handsets, and/or diversity in product portfolio. Nice.

Ironically none of these devices have a 3,5 mm headphone jack like other Walkman branded devices, including the first one that went on sale on the first of July in 1979.

Nitpicking aside, both the 302 has a 2 megapixel camera, W595 has a 3,2, W902 has 5 and also interestingly enough comes with an 8 GB memory card. They’re all quadband and are all coming out in Q4 of this year. The W595 and W902 have 2100 MHz HSDPA.
