Sony Ericsson Alicia leaked
There are quite a few devices we're expecting Sony Ericsson to announce. BeiBei, Paris, Shino and now another device is included in the mix. A handset codenamed "Alicia" is a stylish Walkman clamshell with two displays. And while we don't have enough information about this phone at the moment, we do know its outer screen […]

BeiBei, Paris, Shino and now another device is included in the mix. A handset codenamed "Alicia" is a stylish Walkman clamshell with two displays. And while we don't have enough information about this phone at the moment, we do know its outer screen won't be used only for displaying caller ID — it will feature some nice Walkman animations or the current weather condition, changing the theme depending on the time of the day. In addition, we know this baby will support TrackID and will be capable to playback both music and video files.

Finally, before I let you go, you should see the first demo video of the device. It just arrived and it's waiting for you after the jump. Enjoy!

Symbian Foundation is formed) Sony Ericsson will officially unveil the Paris, the device has been spotted in new color. Again it's "the wild" where some sneaky insider caught the black and orange version of Paris. We certainly hope the Swedish-Japanese handset maker won't give up on it. Paris looks like a perfect Symbian UIQ device, and I would enjoy using it as much as I enjoy my W960i. Ok, maybe even more. With news that Google's Android-push will take just a bit longer than we would prefer, it's fitting that Nokia has just announced that it will be working to bring together the fragmented Symbian environment under a single, open-source umbrella.

Nokia has been working closely with Symbian for years with S60 development, and it seems that the Finnish handset manufacturer wants to go open-source with their mobile OS. To that end, Nokia will be increasing their already substantial stake in Symbian Limited in order to take Symbian OS and S60 open-source.

Nokia has joined forces with AT&T, LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, STMicroelectronics, Texas Instruments and Vodafone to form the non-profit Symbian Foundation in an effort to further Symbian development as an open-source mobile platform. The Symbian Foundation was formed to increase awareness and appeal of a unified Symbian platform as well as provide the developers with a unified development environment for an open-source Symbian. The move will unite the Symbian OS, S60, UIQ, and MOAP platforms to give Google's open-source Android platform a run for its money.

Nokia bringing their Symbian OS and S60 contribution to the table, the Symbian Foundation wil have the necessary components to develop a unified mobile platform with a common UI framework.

Pending the acquisition of Symbian Limited, the Symbian Foundation is expected to go live in 1H 2009 - just in time to give the Android folks a serious sweat.

Rumour Mill: Sony to go it alone, for the PSP phone?
Pocket-lint is reporting that Sony is considering to go it alone for production of the oft-rumoured "PSP Phone". Previously we have seen patents, mock-ups, fakes, and suchlike - but no phone! Apparently the relationship between Sony and Sony-Ericsson has become somewhat frosty, over what sony considers the "strategic error" of giving SE it's "Walkman" brand name.

Additionally, another comment is that the PSP Phone will actually just be a PSP with different/additional radio chips inside it, to allow it to make calls too - I presume via a headset, since holding a PSP up to your head would look like you are trying to make a phonecall on a shoe!

Well, rumours abound, but it ain't over until a certain lady sings…..
