Sony Ericsson W980 officially announced
Just as we've expected, Sony Ericsson announced the latest addition to its Walkman family of handsets - W980. Created with "music in mind," the new Walkman clamshell is simply beautiful in its "Piano Black" color. As for the specs, there's the quad-band GSM/GPRS radio, HSDPA, stereo Bluetooth (A2DP), 2.2" QVGA internal and 176×176 pixels external screen, […]

In postpay, and not dissimilar from last time, the preponderance of Sony Ericsson and Nokia devices from their respective mid-ranges is quite clear to see. The N95 and N95-8Gb are also doing good numbers - I read somewhere recently that the N95 has done 7m units across continents, so that's a major win for Nokia!

In the land of prepay, SE and Nokia are again owning the market - although Nokia may have 40% market share on a European/Global basis (these stats are always disputed), SE are literally snapping at Nokia's heels in the UK.

I'll repeat this list in 1-2 weeks and see what shifts, if any we have Nokia Dominates Indian Handset Market”>Nokia Dominates Indian Handset Market

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 live demo from Mobile Focus at 3GSM 2008 Barcelona
Ok, like Stefan said, we're not going to bother calling it Mobile World Congress. It's been called 3GSM in the past, and we're not going to stop doing so. Anyway, at 3GSM 2008 in Barcelona, Sony Ericsson brought out their Windows Mobile-powered XPERIA X1 superphone. With that beautiful WVGA touchscreen display, 5megapixel camera, and WiFi, the […]

Anyway, at 3GSM 2008 in Barcelona, Sony Ericsson brought out their Windows Mobile-powered XPERIA X1 superphone. With that beautiful WVGA touchscreen display, 5megapixel camera, and WiFi, the SE XPERIA X1 is as top-of-the-line as it gets.

Convergence is what Sony Ericsson is aiming at with their XPERIA branding, and if the XPERIA X1 is any indicator of what's to come, we can't wait.

What we have here are photos of the still unannounced Sony Ericsson slider phone. As you can see from the image above, the upcoming device is smaller than the W910i model and also sports some camera (we're not sure about the megapixel count). In addition, the top part looks so P1ish giving us hope this […]

Right, well you may have noticed the spiffy user interface that looked nothing like any Windows Mobile platform we've seen. And, it seems that there's reason to that rhyme.

HTC-sourced sliding QWERTY keyboard, we would have been happy with a tweaked Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. But, if the XPERIA X1 does indeed come packing some new-fangled features, we're going to have a hard time waiting for this thing to hit production.[Via: SEfanatics]
